Anadin Extra Caplets

Ingredients

 

Each caplet contains:

 

• Aspirin 300mg
• Paracetamol 200mg
• Caffeine 45mg

 

Other ingredients: maize starch, povidone, hypromellose, triacetin, and stearic acid.

 

Dosage

 

Adults and Children Over 16 Years:

 

• Take 1-2 caplets every 4 hours as needed.
• Do not exceed 8 caplets in 24 hours.

 

Children Aged 12 to 15 Years:

 

• Take 1 caplet every 4 hours as needed.
• Do not exceed 4 caplets in 24 hours.

 

Children Under 12 Years:

 

• Not recommended.

Side Effects

 

Common side effects may include:

 

• Nausea
• Indigestion
• Increased heart rate (due to caffeine)

 

Less common side effects:

 

• Allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching
• Gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers
• Liver or kidney issues with prolonged use

Warnings

 

• Do not take Anadin Extra if you are allergic to aspirin, paracetamol, caffeine, or any other ingredients listed.
• Avoid if you have a history of peptic ulcers, haemophilia, or severe liver or kidney disease.
• Consult your doctor before use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
• Do not consume with other paracetamol-containing products to avoid overdose.
• Excessive intake of caffeine should be avoided during treatment.

Interactions

 

• Do not take Anadin Extra with other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen) or aspirin-containing products.
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medication as it can increase the risk of liver damage.
• Consult your doctor if you are taking any other medications, especially anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin), antidepressants (SSRIs or SNRIs), or any medications for high blood pressure.

Additional Information

 

• Store below 25°C in a dry place.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.
• If symptoms persist for more than 3 days or worsen, seek medical advice promptly.
